To see if your firm is eligible for the woman owned small business certification the following questions should be assessed. The firm must be able to answer "Yes" to each of the following questions in order to qualify. A "No" does not automatically disqualify the firm however it could be potential problem are for WOSB certification.

  • Is the firm or business entity 51% owned and controlled by a woman who is a U.S. Citizen? IF YES CONTINUE
  • Can the woman owners of the firm document their status as both female and US Citizenship by a birth certificate, naturalization papers or passport? IF YES CONTINUE
  • There are no conditions in which the current woman who own(s) and controls the firm could lose control of the firm, or have influence placed upon her in the decision making process of the firm? IF YES CONTINUE
  • At least one woman owns, manages and controls the day to day operations of the firm.
  • A woman holds the highest position in the firm and this is commiserate with past earnings of the employees of the firm? IF YES CONTINUE
  • The woman owner devotes full time to the management of the firm? If YES CONTINUE
  • Woman ownership possesses all of the necessary technical expertise, experience and certifications in order to manage the firm without relying on others? IF YES CONTINUE
  • The AGI (adjusted gross income) of the woman claiming economic disadvantage has not been in excess of $350,000 per year on average for the past 3 years? IF YES CONTINUE
  • The total net worth excluding retirement, personal residence and the value of the business is less than $750,000? IF YES CONTINUE
  • Are the fair market value of all the owners assets under $6,000,000 dollars? IF YES CONTINUE
  • No assets have been transferred in the past two years that would have placed the woman owned small business outside of this requirement (with the exception of educational payments)? IF YES CONTINUE
